September Beauty Faves

I love beauty products. I am in no way a beauty expert but I know what I like! I love trying new things and testing out products to figure out what works for me. Lip products and nail polish are my favorite items. Here is what I was loving and using over and over in the month of September. Please enjoy. Stay a while and come back soon!

This foundation is surprisingly better than I expected. It offers light coverage but I can build it to light/medium for a "no makeup" makeup look. It evens my skin and is great for everyday use.
L'Oreal Magic Nude Foundation in Soft Sable 332. About $12

I searched for Bad to the Bronze for about a month and finally found it. It was the last one in the display so I knew it was meant to be. I'm so glad I didn't give up on my search. I use this on its own quite often but it's also great under metallic shadows.
Maybelline Color Tattoo eye shadow base in Bad to the Bronze 25. About $6

When I saw this I was instantly amazed by the gorgeousness in front of me. I was even more amazed at the price....$2.97!! At first I thought it was a mistake since I had always heard that these go for about $8. But it was no mistake, both pallets (I also purchased Blue Had Me at Hello) rang up for $2.97. When I finally got them home I was so impressed by the quality of these shadows. They are better than any other shadows I've tried from the drugstore. The feel, pigmentation and longevity are just outstanding, needless to say I do not regret my purchase. Btw, no picture could ever do this beauty justice. You must see it for yourself.
Wet n Wild Eye Shadow Pallet in Comfort Zone 738. About $3

I have to admit, I was very skeptical about buying this one. I got it because I love the color, but I knew it might be a problem with my skin tone. It's very light and highly frosted. But I was pleasantly surprised! It goes on very sheer and the frost isn't a problem. Since it is a blue based pink, it compliments my skin very well. I've been wearing this almost everyday for the last 3 weeks when I want a pinky-nude lip. I usually put a pink lipstick in the center of my lips to tone it down some though. If you don't have this color I highly recommend it.
Revlon Lip Butter in Cupcake 055. About $7

I am totally loving these Revlon lip glosses. This one is my most recent purchase. It's the most pigmented of the 4 that I have and I have been loving it for a dark vampy look. I usually pair it with a Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm in jam twist for added color but it's not at all necessary.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Raisin Rage 250. About $7

This lip liner has been great for a deep purple lip. I pair it will a Jumbo Gloss Balm of the same color and it works perfectly. I never have to reapply the liner, but I reapply the gloss every 3-4 hours.
Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner in Plum 45. About $5

This balm is absolutely amazing. I always pair it with the Maybelline lip liner above. Out of the 4 that I have, it is hands down my favorite. Although it still only lasts about 3 or 4 hours I find that it is a lot more moisturizing than the others. I'm not sure if it's all in my head or if the formula is different but I love it! I had just about given up on these when I found this one and figured I'd give it a shot. I'm so glad I did and now I actually want more. Oh and I guess the 4th time is the charm with that packaging as well. I finally figured out how to keep up with the color name! Just remove the plastic on the body and leave it on the lid!
Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm in Plum Twist 260. About $6

Now this one took some getting used to. Since my lips are so pigmented, it pretty much blended in with them. At first I was just using it as a chapstick since it is very moisturizing. About 2 weeks ago I decided to try it under a nude lip color and I fell in love (again) It suddenly became the perfect "my lips but better" product. I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a balm stain, at least that's how I use it. When I want that "my lips but better" look I will use this or the Revlon Lip Butter in fig jam. They are the exact same color but this one is more matte whereas the other is glossy...I prefer matte.
L'Oreal Color Riche Lip Balm in Satiny Cocoa 182. About $8

Well, those were my picks. I'm very interested in knowing what some of your favorite beauty items are. Thank you again so much for stopping by and please do come again soon!

What's In My Bag(s)

For years I've been seeing this type of post floating around in the form of blog posts, YouTube videos and magazine articles. I always enjoy them (as I am a naturally inquisitive person) so I thought maybe it's my turn to have a go at it, plus I figured this could be a good way to give you all a chance to get to know a little bit about me and maybe want to know more. Please enjoy. Stay a while and come back soon!

First I'll start with my purse....
The bag I'm currently carrying is a tote bag from the Queen Latifah brand, I think it was a free gift with purchase.

I usually keep 2 planners - a thin black ledger and a blue schedule keeper, my cell, sunglasses, 2 cosmetics bags and keys

I always have 2 pairs of sunglasses with me, one casual and more a bit more dressy, just in case I have to change my look up a bit. Black pair from Target other ones from Kohl's

I keep two cosmetics bags because they both serve different purposes. The green and white one has more "just in case" necessities along with mints, lotion and body spray or perfume, while the pink one has only makeup. They're both by the brand Clinique.

I no longer carry a wallet because I have so much other stuff in my purse so I just put change and some cards in the pink case on my key ring...sometimes, when I'm only going out to run a few errands, I only grab my keys and I'm out the door. I can also fit my phone and a lip gloss in the case.

Now, finally my makeup bag
I realize I probably keep way too many products with me, but I've tried and I can't get rid of anything! My main problem is lip products (I have 9 in my bag right now!!) I also keep my nail polish that I'm currently wearing, a hand lotion and a case with q-tips and beauty sponges in the other bag (but if they could fit they'd be in this one)
Here is a list of what is in my bag:
Target brand blotting sheets
Neutrogena Shine Control Powder
Avon kabuki
Neutrogena makeup removing wipes
Nivea Creme
2 mascaras, Covergirl Flamed Out and an ELF one for separating
L'Oreal True Match crayon concealer
....
And now for the lip products:
EOS lip balm
ELF lip exfoliator
3 Covergirl lipsticks - Hot Passion 305, Penelope Pink Q440 and Royal Plum Q405
ELF matte lip color in praline
Avon lip
Revlon lip butter in wild watermelon
Revlon super lustrous lip gloss in kiss me coral

I keep so many lip products because I like to be able to switch up between 3 lips looks. I never know how my day is going to end or where I'll have to go and I may not have time to go home and redo everything. I keep products for a red lip, bold colorful lip and the look I've been wearing lately, neutral. Am I totally crazy or am I just one of many?? What do you all keep in your bags? Leave a comment letting me know.
Thank you for reading
